Our Story
It was in 1998 when I joined MACS Agharkar Research Institute in Pune, Maharashtra, India, for my doctoral research. I was fortunate to have got a very promising topic “Bioremediation of arsenic contaminated groundwater” to work upon under the able guidance of Dr. K.M. Paknikar, a renowned scientist in Nano-biotechnology.
ARSENIC the deadly slow poison had created havoc in nine districts of west Bengal then with more than 42 million people drinking arsenic contaminated groundwater, unknowingly! The urge was to find a solution applicable in field for removal of arsenic.
In April 2004, we came up with an integrated bio technological process with successful pilot scale and later scale up process for arsenic removal!! This was later applied by installing treatment plants in the affected areas of Chhattisgarh by DST, Govt of India.
Since then working on “Water” became my subject of interest and the journey continued through a water testing laboratory “Aquatech Solutions”; Multiple experimentation on grey water treatment and wastewater recycling…It was in 2008 when I received Indian Patent for the invention,” A process for recycling domestic wastewater”.
This was the trigger to start my start up Cerulean Enviro Tech Pvt Ltd. – “Treating and Recycling water”. Today this is promising start up in the water treatment Industry!
